Volunteer NMIMS - Ishana

Student of NMIMS College, Ishana Mantri an Intern volunteer with Trishul Learning Centre

Ishana Mantri a student of NMIMS, has all the qualities that are required from an MBA student and a professional corporate executive of the future. Career oriented, sharp, focused, a complete set of qualities that are required for making of a future corporate leadership. These are the qualities she reflected upon the students she was guiding and mentoring at Trishul NGO. Beside helping smaller children with academics she was totally focused on helping one of Trishul student Shruti Vyas who was appearing for 10th Grade (SSC) board exam. She was not only very hard working but a absolute task master with her students, she expected them to put the same sincere effort she put herself. She also offered to help Shruti whenever she required for future career guidance, she was more like an elder sister to her than as a faculty.

Ishana is one of the volunteers who would not just take initiative but ask for more assignments and more work. She shared several ideas with Trishul Women Empowerment Team, and was very open critique for anything she felt was not done perfectly. It was a delight to have a volunteer like Ishana Mantri as part of Trishul NGO team.

Volunteer-Institute D'Etudes Politiques Aix-en-Provence - France

Students of Institute D'Etudes Politiques Aix-en-Provence - France, Guillout Zoe volunteered with Trishul

Guillout Zoe, the French girl with a sunshine smile charmed the children and women of Trishul NGO from day one. Just like music has no language, with her "happy to help expressions" and "Will", she easily found way to help small children with academics; activities and helping women empowerment team coordinator with some back office work. She actively participated in Women's Yoga Sessions and Women Day's celebration at NGO.  Her active volunteering was cut short due to lock down announced in Mumbai due to Global crises of Pandemic. She had to cut short her volunteering and had to fly back to her home town in France as the lock down kept extending. Children and team Trishul NGO are hoping that we meet Zoe, the volunteer with a sunshine smile after the Pandemic crises are settled if she happens to be in India.

Volunteer - Madras Christian College

Students of Madras Christian CollegeKodhai Ramalingam, K. Keerthana successfully completely their internship with Trishul.

When I met these two Tamil girls from Chennai on the day one of routine Introduction and Induction session; I though these English speaking girls would face serious language barrier if they were to teach children from Marathi Medium school and work with women from TWEP team, as they did not know even a word of Hindi and Marathi language. But Kodhai and Keerthana proved me wrong from day one as their smiles; happy body language and positive attitude helped them jell very well with both children and women. Over the period girls picked up few Marathi and Hindi vocabulary from children  and Women; Marathi medium children too started conversing with them in English which helped them improve their communication skills in that language.

Kodhai and Keerthana helped smaller children  with their academics and art craft; played games; danced with them; the children had loads of fun. These girls always took initiative and never said no to any request for any volunteering opportunity. They also helped in back office work at TWEP; volunteered for manning Exhibition Stalls for Women Empowerment Product Sales at Corporate NGO Mela.
