COVID-19 TRISHUL NGO, SCHOLARSHIP FOR SLUM CHILDREN,  SUPPORT INITIATIVE

Children are dropping out of schools because they are not able to afford the cost of education under the current COVID-19 Pandemic lockdown and economic crises.

The whole society is going through a tough phase during this COVID-19 pandemic specially people from low income group and irregular income group backgrounds. TRISHUL NGO SCHOLARSHIP is to support deserving Children of (Daily Wage Works, Maids, Drivers, Sweepers, Small Vegetables, Dabbawalas, Porters, Shop vendors and other similar trades) in continuing their education and empowering them to become financially independent, and responsible citizens.

THE CAMPAIGN

Today, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to an unprecedented time in history that requires all of humanity to do its best in order to overcome the crisis we face. This devastating global pandemic has affected us all in some way or the other but for those without a regular fixed income it is even more life-threatening.  Children, Women, Elders in the family of Daily Wage Workers; staying in small homes in congested slums are among the most vulnerable and they are particularly at risk during this time.

Trishul has been transforming slum Children and Women into valuable members of society since 1996. We now want to ensure that the children and women involved in our empowerment and education programs, whether at our centre or with their families have access to food and education during these trying times. Your donation to this fund will help the people who are hit the hardest, our daily wage earners. One donation of Rs.5,500/-  is the equivalent to funding one semester (6 months) of education for a child. 

We are targeting Rs. 5500 x 2 semesters x 50 children = Rs.5,50,000/-

Shruti-SSC Results

Congratulations Shruti Vyas (Daughter of Chanda Vyas and Santosh Vyas), Student of Trishul (NGO) has scored 85% in SSC. A great achievement for a student coming from a humble background. We also congratulate her parents; our faculty; volunteers and many others who have supported her in different ways.

What are the 3 motivations giving to the women empowerment?
The essential factors for empowerment are self-confidence, exposure and independence. Man and women are one of the major components of society. Since the formation of the society, there has been discrimination on how society looks on both the genders. It is through the lens of the society that we build our conceptions.

What are the objectives behind women empowerment?
Fostering decision-making and collective action. Enabling women to make informed choices. Ensuring women's participation in all walks of life. Providing information, knowledge, skills for self-employment.

What are the important types of women empowerment?

Ways in which gender training can contribute to women's empowerment and development
The researcher concluded that unless women are empowered and gender equality is achieved so that women can play their role in economic, social, political, and environmental areas, the country will not achieve sustainable development with the recognition of only men's participation in all these areas.
